13 October 2010, 10am - 4pm, Euston Fitzrovia, London W1T 4TQ
We are pleased to be able to offer another chance to attend our very popular CHP course. These are just a few comments from previous delegates:
"Essential for anyone considering installing CHP"
"Very informative and useful for consulting engineers"
"Very useful from basic concept to some advanced practical applications"
"Excellent delivery of a technical subject, information pack very comprehensive"
"A useful overview of the end-to-end process of thinking about and installing CHP."
"Lots packed in = Good!"
"Excellent insight into CHP"
Combined Heat and Power (CHP) is the production of electricity and useful heat in a single process. In CHP plants the heat produced during the generation of electricity can be put to good use, rather than being wasted.
CHP should always be considered when:
- Designing a new building
- Installing new boiler plant
- Replacing/refurbishing existing plant
- Reviewing electricity supply
- Reviewing standby electrical generation capacity or plant
- Considering energy efficiency in general
Subjects to be covered
- What is CHP and how can it benefit your business, particularly in the light of Part L of the Building Regulations, the Climate Change Levy and Enhanced Capital Allowances
- The advantages, disadvantages and practicalities that need to be assessed when applying CHP across a wide range of building type
- Applications of CHP: Where to get the best from CHP alongside some novel application
- The importance of CHP feasibility studies, the key issues to be considered alongside a simple feasibility study exercise
- Government Support for CHP: What support is available and what is 'quality' CHP?
- Sizing CHP: Including a demonstration of the Carbon Trust’s CHP-SIZER software package
- Implementing CHP: Design, procurement & commissioning through to operating and maintaining CHP
- Using CHP to financially and environmentally benefit your business
- Lessons to be learnt from case studies
Who should attend?
This course will be of benefit to technical, engineering and maintenance staff; building service engineers, building control managers, and facilities managers.
